Pentredwr Craft Fair 26th November 2023

As much as I love making things there comes a point when it needs to be moved on if only to keep the house from being overrun with woollen garments and it helps to pay for the next lot of wool/new spinning wheel/ loom etc.etc.  I attend a few craft fairs throughout the year as time allows, it`s good to meet people and to get an idea from them of things that they would consider buying if I could make it.  My socks seem to be the most popular items with customers but as you can see from the photo above I do make a variety of things from shawls, hats, gloves, cowls etc.  Apart from the socks, my garments are made from hand spun, hand dyed wool which I have processed myself.  The socks are made from either commercial 75% wool/25% nylon mix (Drops Fabel or West Yorkshire Spinners) or a commercial 45% alpaca/25% wool/30% polymide mix (Drops Nord) which provides for a durability which pure  hand spun wool will not provide.

I donate some of my profits to charities, my favourite being Guide Dogs For The Blind being a dog lover and like to support the amazing work they do!

guide dog sponsorship & charity donations

Meet Douglas who is the latest guide dog puppy to benefit from your support in 2023.  Also this year I have made donations to the Stand Up To Cancer appeal after watching comedian Rhod Gilbert`s emotional programme about his struggle with this dreaded disease, and also to Kevin Sinfeld`s 7 in 7 in 7 marathons in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease appeal.

Thank you all for helping me to do it!

2022 is the start of a two year sponsorship of Kevin, a gorgeous puppy who will hopefully become an invaluable companion in the future (picture from the Guide dogs Soc.), in addition I`m sponsoring Arthur who is training to be a hearing dog (photo from Hearing Dogs)
