Hello, I`m Rosemary Davies and as the title of this website suggests I like to spin wool and make socks.  

   I first started my hand spinning in the 1980`s but events in life meant it was an on-off thing but it was something that I kept going back to periodically.  Sometime around 2000 I obtained a second hand Louet wheel which really set me off again and since then it`s been spin-spin-spin. 

   In 2008 I bought myself a vintage Legare sock knitting machine (c.s.m.) which then set me on the road to making socks which I find as theraputic as spinning, although it`s not always as relaxing when the machine is playing up.  I also now have a vintage Victoria c.s.m. which I bought a little over two years ago in a delapidated condition but after a full strip down and rebuild by my husband, it is now capable of turning out some really fine work.

   As well as spinning and sock making I can be found weaving some of my handspun wool, some of which I have made into jackets and rugs.
